Researchers: (WORLDWIDE)
The OICD has a wide range
of interests in fields from conflict studies to traditional ethnography.
If you are currently working on a project which you think may fall into
the OICD's scope, you may want to apply to become a research affiliate, with the future possibility of OICD sponsored publication and/or promotion
of your work in the context of an OICD project. Alternatively, if you are
trained in either media studies or a social science but have no current
research project, you may want to consider applying as an OICD researcher,
with the responsibility of carrying out research projects for the OICD.
Once taken on as a research or an affiliate researcher there will be the
opportunity to switch between the two roles as well as the future possibility
to have your research funded (in the case of an affiliate), or be awarded
a full-time position at the OICD (in the case of a OICD researcher). Current
researchers/affiliates are sought particularly in the areas of:- media
studies (corporate/national propaganda, the effect of advertising on cultural
identity), and social anthropology (the effects of local community and
generational transitions on national and global citizenship) although all
projects relevant to the OICD aims are considered.

Project Developers (UK)
Work at the heart of the
OICD in a team of people devoted to translating the aims and directives
of the OICD into action. You will need to be highly creative, and thrive
on coming up with and developing innovative ideas in a team context. You
may well have had experience in creative marketing, or perhaps have worked
in a team to bring a different kind of creative project into life. You
will have a keen sense of the cultural/ethic make-up of the UK, as well as an understanding
of the various ways in which UK media organizations seek to influence and
steer public opinion and/or cultural identity. As well as being able to
work effectively in a group, you will also be able to bring a project to
completion on your own, illustrating a determination to meet goals on an individual level.
It is expected that four to five project developers will contribute to the OICD team once funding becomes avalable
